Join the Mortgage Witness Expert Network
Mortgage Witness is developing a selective network of experienced mortgage professionals who may be considered for consulting, loan-file review and lending-related expert opportunities.
Who may apply
Applicants should generally have at least 10 years of directly relevant mortgage-lending experience in one or more areas such as origination, underwriting, operations, supervision, quality control, private lending, reverse mortgage, government lending, Non-QM or related mortgage specialties.
Where an applicant currently holds or has held an NMLS registration, Mortgage Witness may verify the publicly available NMLS identifier and current professional information as part of screening.
Application is free
There is no fee to submit an application. Applying does not guarantee admission to the network, referrals, consulting assignments, expert-witness work or income. Any optional profile or workflow-preparation service, if offered, is separate from admission and would be discussed independently.
What accepted experts can receive
- A public Mortgage Witness profile after screening and approval.
- Consideration for legitimate requests that match the expert’s verified specialty.
- Optional opportunity alerts when an anonymized request appears relevant.
- A clear specialty position so attorneys and mortgage organizations can understand the expert’s experience.
Inclusion does not guarantee assignments, referrals, work or income.
What to provide
- Your name and current professional role.
- Current organization and public professional contact information.
- NMLS ID, if applicable.
- Years of directly relevant mortgage experience.
- Primary mortgage specialties.
- A public professional biography, LinkedIn profile or CV.
- Whether you would like to receive matching opportunity alerts.
Screening
Mortgage Witness reviews experience, specialty, professional history, current role, publicly available licensing or registration information where applicable, independence, and any employer restrictions before considering a professional for the network.
Opportunity alerts
Approved professionals may opt in to receive notices about legitimate mortgage-related requests that appear to fit their specialty. Alerts may identify the general type of assignment, mortgage specialty, jurisdiction when relevant, experience requested and timing. They do not disclose confidential client or case information through a public notice.

If you know another mortgage professional with at least 10 years of directly relevant experience in a specialty different from your own, you may refer them to this application page. Each applicant is reviewed independently and must provide their own professional information.
